From now onwards seven works of Vangelis Kyris and Anatoli Georgiev depicting traditional costumes of the islands of Hydra, Spetses and Psara will be housed in the Lazaros Koundouriotis Historical Mansion. The costumes date back to the 19th c. and belong to the NHM’s Folk collection.

These works which were donated to the Museum by the two artists, are only a part of the broader project entitled “Raiment of the Soul”. The project was initiated by the NHM in collaboration with Vangelis Kyris and Anatoli Georgiev on the occasion of the bicentennial of the Greek War of Independence (1821-2021).
